Travis Kelce Shows Taylor Swift Love From Afar as She Makes VMA History
Travis Kelce may have been thousands of miles away from Taylor Swift when she made history at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, but the Kansas City Chiefs star made sure his wife knew he was celebrating her success.
Swift attended the VMAs in Los Angeles on September 27, while Kelce was in Miami with the Chiefs preparing for their game against the Dolphins. Because of the scheduling clash, the NFL star was unable to join Swift at the star-studded ceremony.
Rather than missing the moment completely, Kelce appeared to support Swift from afar through social media. The 36-year-old football star was spotted liking several Instagram posts featuring his wife as she arrived at the awards show.
Among the posts Kelce liked was a Good Morning America video showing Swift making her entrance on the VMAs red carpet. He also liked a Billboard carousel featuring photographs of Swift posing ahead of the ceremony.
Swift makes VMA history
While Kelce was focused on football, Swift was having one of the biggest nights of her career.
The historic achievement was particularly fitting because the new Artist Director Honors recognized Swift’s work behind the camera and her contribution to music-video storytelling. Swift has been involved in directing numerous music videos throughout her career.
While Swift was collecting trophies in Los Angeles, Kelce was helping the Chiefs secure a 24-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
