Whoopi Goldberg praises her late Sister Act co-star Maggie Smith in a heartfelt social media post.

Whoopi Goldberg has recently paid tribute to her late Sister Act co-star Maggie Smith, after the actress passed away at the age of 89.

On September 27, Whoopi took to Instagram and posted a photo of her and Maggie from the movie.

In the caption, The View host wrote, “Maggie Smith was a great woman and a brilliant actress.”

I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to work with the “one-of-a-kind”. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family…RIP,” she added.

Earlier, Whoopi revealed that she would only reprise her role in a threequel if Maggie would do it, too.

Speaking at the British talk show Loose Women, the Ghost actress opened up that she’s “holding the part of Mother Superior” for Maggie.

At the time, Whoopi said, “I just can’t do it with anybody but you. We don’t want to do it without you, Maggie.”

In her memoir Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me, Whoopi recalled how Maggie stayed with her when The Color Purple actress’ mother had died and she was waiting for hours to get a flight home from London the next morning.

“For the next five hours, Maggie sat with me and let me talk her ear off, telling stories about my mom, my growing-up years, and my brother. We laughed a lot,” she wrote.

Whoopi mentioned, “I don’t know if I was in shock. I had never been in shock before. I don’t think I cried. I didn’t feel anything except a big wave of kindness from Maggie.”

“I’ve got to say, she is one of those people for whom I would do anything. Anything Maggie Smith needs, I got her covered,” she added.

BREAKING NEWS | AUSTRALIA Australia on Edge: Historic Gun Buyback, Protest Law Backlash — and an Ashes Star Steals the Spotlight Australia is waking up to a day of big decisions, loud debates, and sporting glory — and everyone is talking. In a move not seen in 30 years, the federal government has announced the largest gun buyback program in decades, following rising security concerns nationwide. Supporters say it’s a bold step to protect lives. Critics argue it’s a rushed response that could punish law-abiding citizens. Either way, the decision has reignited a fierce national conversation about safety, rights, and control. At the same time, New South Wales protest laws are facing intense backlash. Civil rights groups and opposition figures are calling the legislation “far too broad,” warning it could silence peaceful protest and criminalize dissent. With demonstrations already planned, the laws are fast becoming a political flashpoint that could test Australia’s democratic boundaries. And while politics heats up, Travis Head coolly dominates the Ashes. The Australian batsman has smashed another century, sending fans into celebration and reminding the world why he’s one of cricket’s most dangerous players. In a nation craving good news, Head’s performance is giving Australians something to cheer about. See more 👇 👇👇

BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Immigration Crackdown: Trump Suspends Green Card Lottery Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump has suspended the U.S. Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, commonly known as the green card lottery, marking a major escalation in his administration’s immigration crackdown. The program, which grants up to 55,000 permanent residency visas annually to applicants from underrepresented countries, has been a legal pathway to the United States for millions worldwide. The White House said the suspension is aimed at strengthening national security and shifting the immigration system toward a merit-based framework. Administration officials argue the lottery lacks sufficient screening standards and does not align with the president’s broader immigration priorities. Trump has repeatedly criticized the program, calling it outdated and vulnerable to abuse. The decision has drawn swift criticism from immigrant advocacy groups and Democratic lawmakers, who say the move unfairly targets applicants from Africa, Asia, and other developing regions where the lottery has played a significant role. Critics warn the suspension will limit legal immigration options and separate families who have waited years for a chance to apply. Supporters of the policy, however, praise the move as a necessary step to tighten border controls and prioritize skills-based immigration. They argue the suspension reflects voter demands for stricter or lead to permanent legislative changes. Legal challenges are expected, and immigration advocates say they will continue to push Congress to restore the program.

🖲 Breaking news:Trump Asks Supreme Court To Overturn E. Jean Carroll Verdict Former President Donald Trump has taken his legal battle to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the justices to overturn the civil verdict in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll—a move that is already sparking intense national debate. The verdict, which found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation and ordered him to pay millions in damages, marked a historic moment in U.S. legal history. Trump has consistently denied the allegations, calling the case politically motivated and the ruling unfair. Trump’s legal team argues the case raises serious constitutional and free-speech concerns, warning that the decision could weaken presidential protections and expose current and former leaders to endless lawsuits. If the Supreme Court agrees to hear the appeal, the outcome could reshape the limits of presidential immunity and redefine accountability for those who once held the nation’s highest office. For now, the verdict remains in effect as the court decides its next move.see more 👇👇👇

BREAKING NEWS Donald Trump says former White House physician Ronny Jackson told him he was “by far the healthiest” president—ranking above Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Speaking at a Hanukkah reception on December 16, 2025, Trump recalled being present when Jackson was asked who was the healthiest among the three presidents. According to Trump, the doctor’s response was direct: “Trump was by far the healthiest.” Now 79 years old, Trump used the remark to reinforce claims of strong physical health amid growing public attention on his age. The statement aligns with Jackson’s past praise, including a 2024 declaration that Trump was “the healthiest president this nation has ever seen.” Trump’s comments follow recent medical evaluations, including MRI scans conducted in October 2025, which reportedly showed “perfectly normal” results. His medical team has described him as being in excellent overall health, despite his advanced age. However, Jackson himself has faced controversy this year, with reports of misconduct and a demotion from his military rank. His continued loyalty to Trump has fueled mixed public reactions, raising questions about credibility and objectivity see more 👇👇👇
