Taylor Swift’s no-show at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix on Sunday and left beau Travis Kelce to fly solo on a double date with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. Despite claims that the ‘Shake It Off’ singer would grace the event, she was nowhere to be seen in south Florida.

Kelce joined his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, who was spotted soaking up the atmosphere in the paddock on Saturday with wife Brittany. The couples had reportedly planned to enjoy some quality time together in Miami.

USWeekly had claimed on Tuesday that Swift would be seen at the Miami race, taking another step in her budding friendship with Brittany. But as it turned out, Swift gave the race a miss, leaving Kelce to attend on his own. “Brittany is thrilled to be building a genuine friendship with Taylor,” USWeekly revealed back in October 2023.

“They’ve hung out a couple of times and have grown fairly close in a short period of time. Brittany thinks Taylor is so sweet and down to earth and they get along really great.” Following a private getaway to the Bahamas and a trip to Coachella, where Swift and Kelce enjoyed some alone time, the two power couples reunited on Tuesday at Mahomes’ ’15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic. ‘ Despite Kelce’s clear affection, a body language expert told The Mirror exclusively that the couple seemed ‘out of sync’.

A jam-packed weekend for the two star-studded couples saw Kelce flying solo to the prestigious Kentucky Derby, donning a dapper blue fedora and an off-white sport coat, mingling with former NBA celebrity Chandler Parsons and the famed pop duo the Chainsmokers. Over in Miami, the Mahomes were spotted getting cosy at the swanky Sexy Fish restaurant after a day watching the Sprint race and qualifying, with insiders dishing to Page Six that “they were seen canoodling at the table, kissing and hugging”.

While Kelce was making waves at the Grand Prix on Sunday, Taylor Swift’s private jet touched down in France the previous night, as the chart-topping singer gears up to continue her Eras Tour in Paris come May 9. Despite being apart, the Chiefs tight end was all smiles, sharing a business venture with Mahomes that includes big names like Ryan Reynolds and Rory McIlroy as fellow investors in the Alpine F1 Team.

However, sources whisper that Swift is finding the distance from Kelce tough to handle. “It makes the prospect of her tour more challenging. She’ll be sad,” confided an insider to USWeekly in late April. “They deepened their bond [during] all the time they’ve spent together recently. They support and respect [each other]. They have busy careers, so they understand those commitments, as difficult as it is.”

Following a brief break from her gruelling tour, Swift is set to hit the road again with 16 gigs lined up within a month starting May 9. This relentless schedule will continue until her performance at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 20th. By then, her beau Kelce and his teammate Mahomes will have already started their Chiefs training camp on July 23, as they aim for a third consecutive Super Bowl win
