CELEBRITY
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce looked smitten as they enjoyed a romantic day on the water during their trip to Lake Como, Italy this week – amid a break in the European leg of her The Eras Tour.
The superstar singer and the Kansas City Chiefs star, both 34, who were seen enjoying a candlelit dinner at a €21,000 a night villa at the five star Grand Hotel Tremezzo, were seen kissing as they cuddled up to one another on a water taxi. Taylor stared lovingly into her boyfriend’s eyes as he wrapped his arm around her, before the pair kissed and the singer stroked Travis’ face.
The So High School hitmaker wowed in a busty black dress paired with gold jewellery and a tan trench coat as Travis helped her off the boat. The NFL star looked stylish in a black and white patterned shirt and black trousers. Ever the gentleman, Travis was seen holding an umbrella over Taylor’s head as she stepped onto the boat. The star will resume her tour in Stockholm, Sweden at Friends Arena on May 17, 18, and 19.
Travis has jetted to Europe with his girlfriend to support her on tour and was seen dancing with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper during the star’s performances in Paris last week. Taylor was seen blowing kisses at her boyfriend – who was in a VIP box – as she performed track, So High School – which is about their flourishing romance. The Kansas City Chiefs player reflected on his trip across the pond while chatting to Jason Kelce on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast.
‘I had a blast at Tay’s show, the new rendition of the Eras Tour – I suggest everyone go see it,’ he gushed. ‘It has her new Tortured Poets Department, a handful of those songs, in the new show, which means there’s a new segment, new lights, new dancing, new everything to the f***ing show,’ he went on. ‘It’s absolutely unbelievable, I enjoyed every bit of it.’
The tight end later defended filming his girlfriend’s performance with his camera flash on. Jason described it as an ‘Ed Kelce move,’ in reference to the brothers’ dad. ‘You know, the settings on the camera … if it’s dark, it’s going to automatically put the flash on. I don’t understand, I was just trying to get some good video, some good memories,’ he laughed. ‘I don’t know if [the shows] are getting better or if I just keep forgetting how they are [but] it was electric in there … It looks like they’re having so much fun up there, and they’re absolutely killing it.’
The three-time Super Bowl champ, who started dating the pop star last summer, has been in attendance at several Eras Tour shows after Swift showed up for him at almost every Chiefs game last season. The romantic outing comes after Kansas City Chiefs star Butker, 28, received an onslaught from Swift fans for using her lyrics in his controversial commencement speech.
Butker delivered the speech at Benedictine College on May 11 and was immediately slammed for criticizing women, taking aim at the LGBTQ+ community, and criticizing US President Joe Biden for supporting abortion. Without naming the 14-time Grammy winner, Butker referenced Swift’s relationship with his teammate Kelce before quoting her 2022 song Bejeweled.
‘As my teammate’s girlfriend says: Familiarity breeds contempt,’ Butker told the graduates. Upon learning about the mention, Swifties quickly jumped on social media to call Butker out for his message. ‘Who’s going to tell Harrison Butker you can’t quote Taylor Swift when being a misogynistic d***head,’ one user wrote on X. Ever open about his conservative Catholic worldviews, Butker insisted that women should stay at home and raise children instead of working. He also urged male students to ‘be unapologetic about your masculinity.’
‘For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment,’ Butker said in his 20-minute address. ‘I want to speak directly to you because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. How many of you are sitting here now, about to cross this stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?’
‘Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.’ Butker added that his wife Isabelle ‘would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and mother.’ He then praised his partner for ‘[embracing] one of the most important titles of all: Homemaker.’
‘Fight against the cultural emasculation of men,’ He urged the male graduates. ‘Part of what plagues our society is this lie that has been told to you that men are not necessary in the home or our communities. As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that is absent, disorder, dysfunction, and chaos set in.’ Neither Swift nor Kelce have commented on the controversial speech.
