Breaking News: Jennifer Lopez embracing East Coast Summer away from troubled marriage to Ben Affleck..

Jennifer Lopez is savoring her summer on the East Coast, spending time in the Hamptons and celebrating her 55th birthday with loved ones.

Despite being apart from husband Ben Affleck, the star is making the most of her summer

Lopez, who turns 55 on July 24, hosted a Bridgerton-themed birthday party over the weekend, followed by an intimate lunch with close friends and family the next day.

A source shared with PEOPLE, “Her summer isn’t exactly what she originally had planned, but she’s making the best of it. She’s always grateful for family time.”

The insider added, “She had a great weekend with family and friends. She loves entertaining and enjoyed her birthday bash. She was in a happy mood.”

This summer was initially supposed to be different for Lopez.

After the success of her Netflix movie “Atlas,” which launched to No. 1 in May, she planned to embark on the “This Is Me… Live” concert tour.

The tour was set to visit cities like Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Toronto, New York City, and Boston.

However, the tour was canceled, with Live Nation announcing that Lopez was “taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”

Lopez addressed the cancellation in a heartfelt message to her fans, saying, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”

Meanwhile, Lopez and Affleck, 51, have been living separately for the past few months.

Sources have noted that the couple is experiencing marital strains, although they have not commented publicly on their relationship.

They recently marked their two-year wedding anniversary while on opposite coasts, with Affleck in Los Angeles.

As one insider revealed in June, Lopez and Affleck are “focused on their separate lives” this summer, and they “don’t have any summer plans together.”

There are reportedly no reconciliation plans for the couple, with a source stating they are “not getting back together.”

The Hollywood power couple’s time apart was initially an attempt to work through their issues independently, but it appears this has not improved the situation.

Lopez and Affleck notably spent their second wedding anniversary apart, and Affleck was absent from Lopez’s birthday celebrations in the Hamptons.

Rumors of a split have been circulating for months, especially given the couple’s rare public appearances together.

According to a source who spoke to Fox News, Lopez and Affleck are heading towards their second split, with the insider claiming, “They are not getting back together. They have no plans to announce that they aren’t a couple right now. JLo wanted to make it work really badly, he’s just a different person to her now.”
