Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift would have been unlikely friends just a few months ago. Now, the two are ditching their significant others to hang out just a few days before the biggest game of the season.

The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and girlfriend of his favorite target, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were spotted out and about in Manhattan Tuesday night a few days after the Chiefs’ huge 27-24 AFC Divisional Round win on the road in Buffalo.

Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift becoming great friends is something that would have seemed hilariously far-fetched, but that’s what has happened as a result of one of the biggest NFL side-plots in league history.

Ever since Taylor Swift showed up at the Chiefs’ week three game in Kansas City against the Chicago Bears to watch her then-reported love interest, American pop culture has been consumed with the collision of the two biggest pop culture forces in America right now: the NFL, and Taylor Swift.

Many at the time figured that Swift’s appearance would be a one-off and that it was just to respect Kelce’s invitation to attend a game. But, she kept coming back, and has attended eleven Chiefs games, with the team going 8-3 in those games, including 2-0 in the playoffs.
