Breaking News: Shiloh Jolie’s Petition to Drop Brad Pitt’s Surname Being Dragged in Court..
Shiloh Jolie, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has encountered a significant delay in her legal battle to remove her father’s surname from her name.
This decision aligns with her siblings Zahara and Vivienne, who have also opted to change their surnames.
The court hearing for Shiloh’s petition, originally scheduled for earlier this month, has been postponed.
According to Shiloh’s lawyer, Peter Levine, the delay is due to a clerical error in the court’s background check process.
“Unfortunately, the court was unable to complete the background check ahead of today’s hearing, so the hearing has been rescheduled for August 19,” Levine explained.
The legal procedure for a name change requires a comprehensive background check, which has not been completed in time.
As a result, Shiloh will have to wait until the new court date to finalize her petition.
Brad Pitt, 60, has expressed visible distress over his daughter’s decision to drop his surname. A source close to Pitt revealed, “He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name.
The reminders that he’s lost his children are not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them deeply.”
Despite his personal struggles, the source noted that Pitt is finding solace in his relationship with Ines de Ramon. Nevertheless, the emotional distance from his children continues to weigh heavily on him.
This sentiment follows criticism he faced when his adoptive daughter, Zahara, also chose to remove his surname previously.
The complex family dynamics trace back to allegations of abuse on a private plane in 2016, which led Angelina Jolie to file for divorce.
The former couple shares five children: Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, Pax, 20, Knox, 15, and Vivienne, 15.
